Job Description: REQUIREMENTS: Education: Diploma or Associates Degree-Colorado RN License Experience: 5 years complex job skills. License / Certification / Registration: CO license, BCLS. Working Environment: Works in a well lit, heated and ventilated area. Requires considerable mobility.. Potential exposure to routine, communicable diseases through regular contact with staff and the public at large. Seeking Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years surgical experience in all specialties. Must have strong O.R. experience, able to circulate all services except hearts(including trauma). Potential for flex shifts, plus call weekend shifts. Must be able to take call without supervision. Primary Duties & Responsibilities 1. Meets the job specific competencies for RN 2. Responsible for compiling and using information related to assignments, analyzing and handling procedures and problems that involve independent judgment and decision-making. 3. Complies with hospital, administrative, safety and human resource policies and procedures. 4. With minimal orientation, demonstrates self directed performance requiring little direction or supervision. 5. Demonstrates professionalism in interactions with patients, physicians, nursing, staff and other patient care members and co-workers. 6. Assists co-workers in completing their duties to promote effective teamwork. 7. Demonstrates flexibility to assist in achieving safe, effective and efficient staffing and scheduling (willing to float to like unit, when requested). 8. Assesses and re-assesses patient condition, observing and recording significant conditions and reactions, detecting deviations from normal, reporting findings and documenting appropriately. 9. Assists and advocates appropriate interventions and care planning. 10. Initiates a patient education plan, patient care plan &/or clinical pathways, according to the assessed individualized needs of the patient, and as prescribed by physician and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. 11. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies and procedures and protocol. 12. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
